TIPPERARY GAA SCENESee the latest news on Tipperary GAA Scene from Michael Quinn: LINK TIPP V LIMERICKSaturday night, 21st February, in FBD Semple Stadium - the fourth round of the league - will be filed away under forgettable. The team never got to grips with a lively Limerick side from the off and it was a miserable night capped by the dismissal of Willie Connors at the start of the second half. If one was searching for comfort, it could be pointed out that we all but drew the second half with 14 men but that is cold indeed. Seanie Kenneally, Cathal O’Reilly and the evergreen Noel were bright spots in a dismal affair but, in truth, the players will not look back on this fixture with fondness. Supporters will be looking for a strong response in Walsh Park next day out versus Waterford. NIGHT AT THE DOGSA far more successful endeavour took place across the road in Thurles Greyhound Stadium after the match. The Supporters Club annual Night at the Dogs is one of their main fundraisers for the team and was a huge success. Despite their disappointment, the team were in attendance to sign autographs etc. Many thanks to all who sponsored races, bought tickets, donated raffle prizes etc. And to the members of the Supporters Club Dogs Night Committee whose sterling efforts ensured that sizeable funds will be made available for the coming year. A highlight of the night was the presentation to John McGrath, the Tipperary Supporters Club Hurler of the Year as chosen by the current members of the Tipperary Supporters Club. John was presented with the annual trophy, kindly sponsored again this year by Quirke Trophies Ltd. Cahir, and the perpetual Tony Reddin Cup, provided by the Reddin family.

Treasurer)  TIPP V GALWAY MASCOTLiam Costello was the TSC mascot for the Galway match - here is his report:“I was at the Tipp v Galway match. I was the Tipp mascot. Dad, Mam and Fiadh came too. We went to the Dome where we had food. Johnny B was there. Then it was time for match to start. In the tunnel I met my favourite player, John McGrath, and Liam Cahill. I even got to run out onto the pitch to meet the captains and the ref. It felt cool to be out on the pitch. One of the best parts of the night was being on Tipp FM. Darragh Stakelum scored the goal and Tipp won the match. I’ll never forget that night.” TIPPERARY SUPPORTERS CLUB DRAW
