UPPERCHURCH DROMBANEHeartiest congratulations to our Premier Intermediate champions, Upperchurch Drombane, who added the Munster championship title to their county one yesterday. Facing O'Callaghan's Mills of Clare, a tight contest was anticipated and so it transpired: at least until shortly after the second half began. From then on it was a case of the 'Church obeying Kipling's dictum "If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs.." as chaos descended for a short period which saw two 'Mills players red carded. The 'Church then ran out easy winners of a game which had been the definition of nip and tuck up to that. It is incredible to think that it was only in 2023, after twenty five years operating at dual senior level, the Church were relegated from the Tipperary Senior Championship. And here they are top of the Munster pile just two short years later. Well done to all. They meet the winners of Danesfort / Ratoath in the All Ireland semi-final.
