TIPP - CLARE MASCOT Our mascot for the Clare game was Cathal McGuire…here is Cathal’s view of the day: I was thrilled when l found out that l was going to be Mascot for the Tipperary V Clare match. I got to Semple Stadium nice and early and was brought to the good red seats. I couldn't believe it when l saw my picture in the match programme. Tipperary Supporters Club PRO John brought me to the tunnel where the players run out onto the pitch. I watched the teams warm up and Liam Cahill came over. He was very nice to me. Then l spoke to referee Colm Lyons. He was sound also. The best part for me was getting to sit in the team photo. Jake and Seanie said hello before heading off to play. I got to stand in for the toss with Ronan Maher and Tony Kelly, 2 mighty hurlers. I was surprised how big Tony Kelly was. We headed up to the commentary box to watch the first half. It was freezing up there. I saw where the TV commentators work from. It was really cool to see hawk eye. At half time l got to speak to live on Tipp FM and loads of people heard me. I had to wear headphones when talking to sportsman Paul. We went to the red seats for the 2nd half. To top it off Tipp got the winning point in additional time and l ran onto the field to celebrate. I didn't want the night the end. Thanks to the Tipperary Supporters Club for giving me this great opportunity. Thanks to the lovely stewards in Semple Stadium and best of luck to Tipp in the League final and the championship.
