HURLING REVIEW PUBLIC SURVEY Our own National Director of Hurling, William Maher, and the people behind the Football Review have produced the following survey for hurling followers. Most people will view this as a step in the right direction. The same issues resurface when hurling fans get together:1. The swarm tackles and ensuing rucks are a blight on the game and near-impossible to referee. Maybe blow the whistle quickly and throw in between only 2 players?2. The ‘’handpass/throw’’- Conor O’Donovan’s proposal for the handpass off the hurley is the only realistic, well-thought-out workable solution in many people's view. 3. Reduce the travel distance of the sliotar? It was never envisaged that puckouts could land in the opposition’s congested 20-30m area.Closing date for the survey is June 11th: LINK
BIG WEEK FOR TIPPERARY MINOR HURLERS The minor hurlers, our last remaining team in All Ireland contention, play Cork in the All Ireland Minor Hurling Semi Final on Saturday next, 13th June, in TUS Gaelic Grounds at 2pm. Unbeaten in Munster, they face a Cork team which now has a number of games under its belt and are sure to provide stern opposition. All the best to James Woodlock, his management team and his players. They deserve a large Tipperary support in their efforts to reach the final.
